Thanks Dave,
I'll work something out, clearance is an issue both between the sump & boat, and between sump & crank etc as the sump has been severely chopped down already. Currently only has about 90mm from where the sump bolts to the block to the bottom of the sump. Its dry sumped.

Dave - I'm assuming that the sump is close to a rib with the nail/rove hitting the sump? Is it feasible to machine down the thickness of the rib (and hence make the nail shorter) to give the clearance that you need? I doubt that you would lose any strength doing this.

Hi Bob,
Its actually a nail/rove through the keelson, the ribs in this area have already been cut short of the keelson for clearance.

Dave what about a steeper angled skeg. That will lift the engine.

Z Drive will just push motor forward 8 to 10" and change the balance of the boat, a better shaped sump is the go with scavenge drains at the most rearward and lowest point.
It amazing how much a boat does flex in the keel.
Pack the skeg just a little and it will change the height

Geez Rosco, Was just stirring him up!
These boats flex heaps.
I remember hit a aircraft carrier wash while at Echuca during
the drought at full noise in Steinway and popped both the
exhaust outlets out of the rubbers..... so they flex
mind you I was as high as Joe Cocker before it landed.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Will work something out for Narrandera. Having a cuppa before heading back out to the shed. And Darren the Z drive will be for my skiff! ;) I think that Everingham hull you have hanging in your shed could be a candidate?

Used to Sell.
