Hi Fellow Woodies. Unfortunately I needed to cancel out on this years gathering at Narrandera, sometimes Family gatherings take precedent. I had booked a cabin at Lake Talbot which I cancelled today Monday 14 Sept. if anyone is after a cabin there is now one avialable. Michelle and I apologise and we know we will be missing out on the fun we experienced last year. See you somewhere in the great outdoors.
Cheers for now .

The chill has gone from the weather and the sun is shining. Must be time to roll Rebound out of the shed and start getting her ready for Narrandera. Over the weekend I started on the jobs that have been on the 'gotta to do' list. I fitted a new skeg bush (a lot easier than I thought it would be), checked the thermostat (they can stick shut after months of non-use) plus the normal checks. Time to wake up the neighbours - I hit the start button and the engine turned over as though the battery was flat... but it was fully charged. Bolted on the spare starter and it spun over like never before.... but wouldn't fire. Check and re- check and check again. Crack open the fuel delivery line and there's the problem - no fuel. So lifted thre nose of the boat to flood fuel back to the pick up point in the tank and we finally made some noise. Didn't get to meet any of the neighbours this time!

Anyway Saturday was a very satisfying day. After finally getting the gear sorted the 327 engine fired easily and idled away at 1800 rpm. What a beautiful noise. I am aiming to test some of the props that I have collected over the winter, some time in the next month at the Water Sports Centre.

Roll on Narrandera 09.

That's a shame Pete, we'll miss you both.

I was going to have Suspect's twin up there as well this year as well to see how they shaped up together. Not to worry.

Bob. give me a yell when you are heading to Carrum. I might blow some cobwebs out of Stormy as well. I think Doug is looking for an excuse also.
