Devils Toy
Devils Toy
Hi Guys, just spent the weekend at lake Bolac. Fantastic to see it full again, stocked with Brown Trout to 3kg (allegedly) and no shortage of camping areas for those willing to rough it. Saw this boat in the caravan park and talked to the owner who says it's been in the family for 25 years or so. It was called Mahogany before he owned it. It's not a Seacraft, apparently built in Coburg or Brunswick. Any Info??

Re: Devils Toy
Didn't do any good in the trout fishing department then Ray? I have a conspiracy theory on fresh water fishing (having salt water fished and dived all round Tassie from the age of 4 or 5), and it is this: Thousands and thousands of punters continually try their luck on our inland lakes and waterways, spurred on by all those angling shows and televised competitions. The multi-million dollar boat and tackle industry thrives on the back of that, but only about .0001% of the total fresh water fishing punters ever catch anything, and of that catch only about .0001% of it is worthy of putting on the table
Re: Devils Toy
Yep, just like a good morning's fishing on the lake...I've had this line in the water for 2 1/2 hours and not even a bite
Re: Devils Toy
Yeah but youve got to put bait on your hook Jon and I dont mean a can of bourbon either
Re: Devils Toy
A can would probably work no differently to a bardy grub
Re: Devils Toy
If the cans full of high explosives it'll work ! Thats my next move.
Re: Devils Toy
This is a piccy of my new Trout hunting machine, it's not made of wood but still pretty neat!!

Re: Devils Toy
Ray,
that's very shiny wood in that new boat! you know that will have to go in a separate shed to the real ones on that new property.

Re: Devils Toy
Hey Alan, it can go in the shed next to the plastic one, not going to risk cross pollination. This one folds up to the size of a surfboard. As for the salt water fishing, i didn't say i always failed miserably. Kingfish 1.3 m long 25kg.
