Has anyone seen "Shifty" NL46?

Postby Willow2529 » 04 Mar 2011, 10:53

Hi all,

I'm after a little help in trying to track down "Shifty" reg. NL46. My dad built it about forty years ago, had a Ford side valve engine in it and was immaculate. They used it for water skiing at several dams and lakes around Victoria but mainly at Eildon Weir, around the Howqua Arm. He hasnt seen it for over two or three decades and as he is battling a terminal illness, I thought it would be a great surprise, if he could be reunited with his old speedboat.

I understand that it may not even exist anymore, or be in any real condition but I'm still going to try and track it down regardless and go from there. I have contacted vicroads and tried to get any details/history of the rego, but records werent keep from that time period and if the boat still exists, they would of had to replace the old rego (NL-46). As this is a dead end, I would like to call on the wider classic boat association's members to ask you, if you have heard of the boat, seen the boat or even better know where it is, to get in contact with me. It's a massive long shot, but the look on my dads face would be worth it. I have included a few photo's to jog anyones memory and thanks once again for reading this post.

Cheers,

Brett

I don’t know if Willow2529 still reads the bulletin board or if anyone has contact with them but this boat is now for sale by one of our friends from Classic Ski Boats.Jack was telling me at Eppalock that Cool Relic(previously Shifty) is on the market.
