If you are going to produce photos of that quality I think its ok to test Gregs patience! - everything about the photos -fantastic - Torea - the location - the water- the background - even the perceived motion ( engine running)- beautiful

Thanks Ross and Will it’s always nice to get some feedback! Will “perceived motion” no that’s a classic ! The truth is being alone and a fair way from the ramp with no tools I didn’t take the risk turning her off!!!!
As you may have picked up I have been having issues for some time but I am hoping they are no finally sorted??

Cheers

Always happy to sort out any glitches Chivs. Keep on posting, especially when they are such spectacularly good pics of such a great boat. Also good to hear it is behaving itself (like the weather).

Yeah the pics are OK, but only because the boat is spectacular, great to see it getting some action.

Meanwhile in Townsville!!

Ahoy all!

Its been just under twelve months since I towed Tomboy to Townsville to play boats with Glenn after givin him 4 years notice that, that was my plan, which he clearly and now obviously did not believe!!! Well albeit 12 months too late he contacted me to say he was finally ready to launch his restored 1930's 23 foot Chris Craft, so I made the trip to experience it first hand.

Just gotta be a Tasmanian thing???? I took a short video with a classic question from Glenn at the end! I will try and and atach it albeit probably upside down but you get the idea, \i hope the audio is not played in reverse?!!! The boat went well, there is of course some teething issues that need fixing/adjustment but all in all a fantastic restoration of this classic! (Video would not attach so I added a few more photos, the question was "where's that smoke coming from?!)

PS I couyld not believe we had the river to ourselves, I asked the obvious question, Where is everyone else? Its winter, too cold, great, it was 22 degrees water about 22 at 8.30 in the morning and got warmer later in the day!!!!

Ahoy all!!

Just for your entertainment, leading up to today I was hoping to join the fat pigeon (Stuart Beattie) who was planning to some boat testing. I have finally got the hydro running but 3 issues arose! 1 the water pick up on the rudder seemed restricted so ran a wire through it and made it worse, so I got an old chain saw file to give it a ream and managed to break a bit off it so I got the message, 2 had trouble with limited bits at home to get the throttle cable actioning smoothly and 3 pigeon didn’t have a safety boat organised.
Now the hydro was out I offered to bring Torea, it needed a run plus could be the support/chase boat. All was good and while mucking around the back I lent against the exhaust and the picture tells the rest!!!
The good news is I never left home and secondly another lesson learned using stuff on hand and not heeding advice to pay the $$ and use stainless steel!!
