Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy all and happy new year from a wet and sometimes sunny Tasmania!
A news years resolution from last year should occur tomorrow? Torea is now almost complete except for windscreen. The dry sump set up etc has not gone smoothly with the main issue finding a belt the right size to run the oil pump. With many thanks to me ole mate Brent he has done the math etc and tracked one down and hoping to breath some life into her Saturday!
The Hydro is almost complete too! Just got to re fit the fuel tank and fuel pump and do a bit of plumbing work and hopefully that will be a goer as well?
To be continued!

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Thanks Glenn ,not long now. Chivs has all the new Toys this time.
There will be a BBQ at my place on the Saturday night. I will provide the basics, salad, snags, bread etc. There is a Bottle shop and fully equipped grocer on the way, only 100m from my front door. Call me for my address.
Chivs will also have his completed projects (no pressure) on display at my place for your admiration.
As per normal Chivs will have Tomboy on a pontoon in the middle of the action , a good meeting place for all. You will find him !
If you are staying at the Argyle Motor Lodge in North Hobart the address is 2 Lewis Street North Hobart 62342488 The room is booked in your name or a name you are known by (ie. Mrs Price, Whoopi....ex Pres.. etc) If I have not spoken to you in the last week or two, I have not booked a room for you !
Any last minute requests call me....no promises.

Having never been to the wooden boat festival before, this will be a first for us... very much looking forward to meeting up with everyone and of course seeing the boats which everyone raves about. Bring it on.

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy all!
Thanks Greg for taking time out to post the previous summary, just been listening to an interview re the festival and the (dare I mention it!) weather was discussed. Apparently if we get all this rain now it will be good by the this time next week?
The long range forecast has next Friday as sunny and 25! So fingers crossed because it can make or break the festival here, the last few days and into this weekend is just winter, no other description for it!
So weather permitting I will be out and about on Tomboy, The true start of the Festival is the Parade of Sail and I took out the Pigeon, Ex Pres, Coolio also known as Whoopi, Mrs Price and my Dad who I believe enjoyed the spectacle. Using the frequent point system paricularly those flying via centre link, the previous mentioned have their places booked! If the weather is truly kind then we may fit a couple more on board, after all two years ago in the power boat race I believe I had 8 on board!
Other news is I launched Torea today, and she showed enough to get excited, It has an electric digital engine water pump which is causing some problem not circulation the coolant at temperature otherwise a few things to tighten and then all systems go?
Cheers from another poo winters day in Tassie!
