Re the Collectors Show, just got a e mail from the Wooden Boat Festival organisers on the e mail magic thing that says if you miss it, it will be repeated on (are you reading this Allan?) ABC2 at 6 pm on Monday 6 June 2011.
I can't tune the Beta Max into Digital TV so I hope you catch it Greg

:P Thanks for checking on me Ross, all good here apart from one small incident which every one will get a laugh out of when I start the story, hopefully tonight after work. Plenty of room Ross, in fact after a bit of cunning positioning I found I have room for another one. So I will be over for the long weekend Bob to get that other boat off your hands 8-)

To be continued, Chris.

Third time lucky? Ahoy all, for those of you that follow this post you may recall the classic Australian wooden power boat addiction (CAWPBA) Like many members I was after another special project but completely different to what I already have. Having attended Narrandera last two years helped guide me to what I would like. So its thanks to all that took me runs in their boats but in particular Dave (Jayme II), Doug (Electric Girl) and Bob (Turbo Fire) who invited me to drive their pride and joy. That experience motivated me to get something similar and now another dream has come true.

I am happy to report that I purchased Torea from and Bob and the boat is now safely stored in my shed for restoration to commence ASAP. When Bob posted he wanted to sell Torea I was very interested but getting to Tasy was a hassle with no trailer. Then Ross (quite timely) advised he had a classic trailer to sell. All the excuses disappeared and the rest is history. The Torea Story can be found under 'Readers Boats' on the clubs web page. I hope to restore Torea as original as I can and will keep the progress updated.
On a personal front I would again like to thank Bob and Ross for all the help they offered and gave me. I had never met Ross and Bob and I have caught up twice at Narrnadera, for me this is what the club is about, supporting fellow members is only one example of how great this club is. Cheers

Lucky for me Bob is a CAWPBA, classic Australian wooden power boat addict or has the addiction. so much so he has to hide one of his boats to make room in the shed located at his 'Great Escape'. When I got there we had to do a bit of boat shuffling similar to the movie the Castle, (remember having to move the commodore and the cortina to get the torana?)
I suggested to Bob to make things easier why not I just take Nirvana, a 1930's original Chris Craft with its original Hercules motor, awesome! We started stuffing around at 9 am and downed tools around 8.30 pm with Torea ready for the journey home and the Glen L put where Torea was stored. Lucky Bob is shed fit!

Sorry about the order of photos, I am having computer issues, hopefully what is under the tarp in the roof will be revealed and I might not put so many photos on at once. Fingers crossed and stuff.
