I have again replaced some bolts on the cav plate .
This time double nutted and a tie wire through a hole on each bolt

Today's effit was to remove the engine from the 6 cylinder skiff.
The oil leak that has made a mess on the floor is to be tracked down and fixed .
Its been a long time out of the water so a good wash out of the hull will need to be done, its not to bad but now is the time to get it done while the engine is out .

Hey Ross, i was forever losing bolts out of Pagans cav plate. Did you track down why it was happening. i finished up using locktite and that seems to have helped

Ray it only seems to happen when I start realy pushing it
hard , so I think may be vibrations , but you can't feel any vibration , but the brute force on the rudder needed to keep it in a straight line must have something to do with it .

The lockdown must have got to me as l have managed to turn a useable boat in to a heap of hard work but it has certainly stoped the boredom .

Cavplate lock nuts .
Have you a stainless steel on timber cavplate "upper" or "lower " it can worm the thread with vibration.
