Well I've been lucky enough to be allowed to copy Max's collection which includes a vast amount of donated material featuring Stan Jones and his Hydro "Stampede". There is a fair amount of material to go through, so it will take some time to do.

Excellent stuff Craig.
Check the prize money offered. They didn't do it for the money! But, then, I started work in 1970 - on about $14.10 a week. More money than I'd ever had.

Thanks Greg. Yes it's all relative. I noticed the pay outs weren't much, but I doubt it if they were in it for the money. Much the same as VFL back then too.
Not much increased over time. 1982 I was on $60 a fortnight in the Army. Big bickies!
