Nova update

Postby Greg » 11 Mar 2021, 18:48

Thought it's about time I did an update on Nova.

Slowly, slowly, but getting there. I love retirement - why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?

About to put a couple of extra coats of paint on the hull, then to look for a decent "real" signwriter - you know, the one who uses real paint and paintbrushes.

Anyway, here are some pics:

That is an amazing restoration. I some detail work there that suggests Ron Johnson? You must be very pleased.

Ahoy there Greg! What a great result, I reckon Jacqui would be just as pleased as you have the already fitted cheese board and room for wine with that awesome seat seat up!!! Is the motor ready or because the boat has come up so well that is also getting “touched up” (a bit)

G'day Chivs.
Yeh, the seats were completely redone per the originals and do look good. Unfortunately, as anybody who has driven the boat will attest, space is tight in Nova's cockpit, especially for fat bastards like me. The old 283 is being replaced by a 327, but not a Corvette, like it had originally. Having said that, the new motor, in the capable hands of Mr Price, will probably end up punching out more horses than the original.

Hmmmm.... a 327 with 6 x Stromberg 97s on top would look good.
