Yes Bob but the way you are going I reckon you only gave another 10 pages left!! Re your last post and the possibility of pulling more apart re strength, you could always make up some sister framing and laminate it to the existing framework so that no further possible damage is caused to existing planks etc! I had a shipwright check the work as we progressed with Tomboy twice, his advice was not to scared to laminate!! Everyone is loving the rebuild story Bob and keeps the club site active which is a good thing!! Cheers mate

Totally agree Bob, plus when she is finished and you got to the various Boat festivals/get togethers/displays you will possibly get sick of answering the same lane questions from people who need to talk for the sake of talking! I did up a handout with with the basics and if truly interested added details of the club web site and directed them to my story from start to finish. Yep I’m an ideas person, cheers mate

Update time .... still chipping away on the rear deck frame and the transom. Currently about 90% of the timber work is done but there is a lot yet to be epoxied in place and then the job of fairing the rear deck frame can begin. I've also replaced the angled engine bearers that sit on top of the hull bearers. Evadure needs to applied over the new timber (not on the glue surfaces) before the bilge paint goes over the inside of the hull and the frame. I'm adding a horizontal batten to the transom frame, to provide a better join for the transom panels, essentially 2 mahogany boards 300m tall (10 - 12mm thick). The pic shows the batten in rough position but it needs to be rebated into the frame. This batten is not used in the original CC hull spec.

Any time mate. A bit of clampology today. Not looking forward to releasing them tomorrow and putting them back into the racks.

You rip 'em apart and then you put it back together. Cut and trimmed the bottom half of the two-panel transom. Started this morning with a 300x45x1800 lump of mahogany. Ripped down its length on the bandsaw and then thicknessed it down to two book matched pieces at 12mm thick. Trimmed and fitted reasonably easy, although there is quite a bit of tension on the board curving around the frame. Didn't have to steam it fortunately. I've got a bit still to do inside the hull before I can glue and fix this piece in place ... still unsure if I should fit a horizontal batten from side to side. It's probablyt the right thing to do for strength of the seam and also water tightness. (Hey Darren , like my BIG clamps? That board is 300mm tall.)

Thanks Craig - only thing I'm worried about for winter is running out of offcuts for the fire. Edging closer to roll over time, me thinks.
