No not sure at all. I looked at the support literature that came with the boat and it seems that it could be a gearbox with F-N-R

Looks a bit Paragonish, but they did make them to last back them.

I think it is a Paragon box. The operators manual says to not warm up the engine with the gearbox in the neutral position. Recommended procedure is to select fwd and nose the bow into the dock. What does that tell you Alan?

I should have read the manual at some stage? the cover will reveal all I guess. The last one I did was fed lube oil from the engine through the center of the crank (sbc). Don't know why they use that procedure. Dam hard to find parts, Looked in my pics of old and found this, though yours looked familiar. (not mine, in wrecking yard USA)

Enjohed a good weekend on Nirvana releasing the aft and the port deck secured with original screws and good old easy to release 1941 adhesive. So far the deck frame is in sound condition. Zero rot, but a few split pieces and a few more that are loose and need to be re-fixed. It's the original deck and I was a bit hesitant about removing it until I found the weakened deck frame pieces. I'm going to attempt to remove the cover boards in one piece and use them as patterns. Did I mention removing 500 odd bungs and screws?

It's funny I did lots of measuring when I pulled Scrubcat apart, I soon realized measurements could be a little "arbitrary"
As Keith Simpkin used to say it was "just so" which translated as done by eye.

Nice work Bob great progress!! For what it’s worth I have a Paragon gear box 1 to 1 ratio with reverse as “gentlemen go in reverse”! At the risk of cursing myself it’s run faultlessly for twelve years plus, no idea of its year of manufacture.

Its very symmetrical Darren. They built 325 of these in 1941so I guess they used a lot of patterns & jigs. Yanks don't understand "she'll be right".
