Today I took Nirvana out of storage and brought her home to my workshop via the weighbridge. I was surprised that boat and trailer went 960 kgs. Pulled the loose stuff from the hull and second surprise was the size of the fuel tank... 80 litres for that tiny 4 cylinder Hercules engine.

Side valve technology and low compression ratio Bob. I can't imagine it would have been all that fuel efficient. Are you going to keep it stock? It's a great boat.

Yes, I'd like to keep it as original as possible. Fortunately all of the original hardware came with the boat.

I poked around yesterday and discovered that the prop is 11 x 9, swinging on a 1" SS shaft mind you! Owners in the US are wrapt when they get 23 mph, four up with a full tank (80 litres!) of fuel.

Here's an update covering the past week or so. Pretty much everything that can be removed from inside the hull is out and stored away after bagging and tagging. Skin fittings and bright work removed too. Thanks to Craig's good tip, I'm getting the sound deadening behind the rear seat checked for asbestos. Engine came out today.... heavy little sucker! Broken engine mount would explain wear in the log. Removing the deck is next and will be fun as it seems to be glued with epoxy to the frame and screwed.

Looks oil free in the bilge and really clean Bob. Novel drive belt behind the flywheel for generator.

A previous owner in the US put a new bottom on and it has an epoxy flow coat. The boat has never been in the water with the new bottom. The drive belt behind the flywheel is interesting. I was wondering if that can be changed without removng the flywheel.
