Ahoy fellow Nirvana/Bob Carter lovers! In particular those that may not be on Facebook or who are but don’t read the text just look at the pictures!?
Anyway I made a comment about appropriate head attire on a classic launch like Nirvana and doing it justice, it appears able seaman Carter has taken this advice on board with the following (hopefully in the correct order?) otherwise I’m sure you can work it out, cheers

Captain oh Captain Chivs. My secret head gear for the grand parade has been revealed. Please don't put up the dialogue between us regarding your nautical mankini supplier.

I’m sorry if I broke “the cone of silence “ mate, but as you know I like a bit of humour at someone’s expense and for those that are following this post to enjoy!
So perhaps I should add my solution to the generator issue by adding some solar panels to the deck?
No Ray no “ash trays on motor bike” comments!
Bob the Mankini and captains in Nirvana will steal the show don’t for getting the 50 plus block out!

And so the restoration is complete! It's a bitter sweet time as I've thoroughly enjoyed the project, even though it has been extremely trying at times. Just a week after the intial launch we had Nirvana at the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally this weekend. On Saturday the old boat horn failed and blew a fuse, in the process knocking the engine out during the grand parade. Back on the trailer, Craig had it up and running again in a few minutes. Then today, I had a good run while getting some running shots for the Club Marine article, that was until I lost the steering and had to be towed in... again. The steering rod slipped out of the coupling on the pitman arm - an easy fix but with the wild winds there was no point doing it on site today. A sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone in the club for all your help, advice, encouragement and support. Going forward, I have a very short list of small jobs to bring Nirvana up to speed and ready for the water again. It's been a great journey, but now its time to enjoy my golden oldie.

With the fuel pump problem sorted out, we took to the water today (another glorious day on the Gippsland Lakes) to enjoy Nirvana and get some time on the engine, running it in at modest rpm. All good apart from an overheating issue which points to the impeller, which I'll check this week. One thing learnt today - Nirvana is a head turner.

No comment. There is absolutely nothing that I can say that will be of any benefit to anyone, especially me. Just saying!

Slightly amazed that any water at all was pumping through the water pump with vanes missing the bits jammed into the inlet & outlet ports.

That's surprising Bob, how old is it?
