Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Sandbag? hold back the animals? doesn't seem to be a rush to be ready before summer.
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Well folks that's a wrap for 2023. Fuel tank is in for a test fit and also confirms that the exhaust needs to go in before the tank. Engine cover fitted in place plus some bright work on the aft deck. Craig has the engine & transmission under control, so we're in good shape for a another big push in January with the public unveiling slated for the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally early March.

Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Looking Great Bob all the very best for Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year. Looking forward to seeing Nirvana in the flesh
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Ahoy all in particular Mr Carter! The last comment “seeing it in the flesh” has prompted this post, because I have! Fond memories way back June 2011, Nirvana as purchased by “the dreamer “Bob who plans to restore it to it’s former glory! Well done Bob, bloody marvellous mate!

Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Thanks Chivs... wow it looks half okay in those pics! Maybe a case of good from far but far from good. I actually bought Nirvana in 2007 so it's been a long time coming & now just a month or more away from launching. Let's hope that you get to take the helm Chivs and experiencel 1940's motor boating at 22 mph. Merry Christmas to you and all our wooden boatie mates.
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
The grand kids & their parents have gone and I got a therapeutic afternoon back on Nirvana. Water pick up in, fuel tank breather in & bilge pump outlet in. A Sika kind of an arvo to kick off 2024. Huge news coming tomorrow, so big that I won't sleep a wink at all tonight.

Wonderfully finished, with such attention to detail.
Good luck with the sleep walking, looking forward to the report!

Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Should be big enough to keep all that horsepower cool,
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Better too big than too small Al. Now where have I heard that before?
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
After months and months of chasing our tail, the little & 83 year old ageing Hercules lives again. My eternal thanks to Craig for his mechanical & engineering excellence- without his unwavering contribution and support this engine would have wound up as scrap. Its still not without its issues, the major one being the lack of an oil filter. But we soldier on with a runner. Lots still to do to get in into the boat plumbed and wired. Did I mention the brand new 6 volt battery being a dud? Bloody boats!
