While waiting for my engine to be bored & crank ground, I've decided to power ahead and glue n screw the deck down. Last week the walnut dash with switches & steering box/column refurbished then fitted. Today, the bow & aft lifting rods went in, aft king plank glued in and also the port for'ard cover plank screwed down. Made use of the John Deere clamp accessory too.

Remaining aft cover boards fitted today and then the king plank on the front deck. Aiming to get the front deck laid tomorrow... watch this space.

Ah the best laid plans.... so close to ticking off my goal for today which was to glue and screw down the front deck. I was travelling well until I got to the last board which turned out to be just a smidge too narrow. So rather then press on tonight and stuff it up (or injure myself again!!) I called it quits. Job for another day, soon.

Deck is 95% done. All the planking is glued & screwed, 1/3 of the bungs are in & the bridge deck is glued on. About 500 bungs remain to be glued in then its time to trim them down & lots of sanding with the longboard.
