Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Feels like a belated and most welcome birthday present... shipment of parts has arrived at last from the US.

Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Wouldn't you know it - those flippin Yanks shipped the wrong size main bearings! Arrgh! So back onto the timber work fitting the planking to the engine hatch as a bit of a training run on the process before attacking the whole deck. So far so good, and I'm sure that Darren will appreciate the grain in the bungs all line up nicely. Hope to finish the trailer in the next day or so and then get it out of my shed as I ponder the order of tasks given the hold up with the engine.

Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
I am thinking of getting it out of the shed to commence construction of various Christmas Gifts from clever/skilled Santa Carter!! Very impressed Bob and re the constant throw away comments of Nirvana being underpowered I was surprised how Glen’s Triple went with the Hercules 6!
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Haha... I've seen boaties in the US furiously hand clapping when they get sub 25 mph speeds with my engine/hull combo. No Xmas toys for the grand kids this year.... I've been busy!

Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
The saga of sourcing 0.040" undersize main bearings for my CC Hercules engine has been resolved thanks to the good and patient work of Craig Allardyce and the engineering/machine shop in Bruthen. We've found that Mazda 2 bearings will do the job after the block and bearing caps are line bored slightly. So to the self appointed, over priced gurus in the US who farted about for 2 months without a solution, shove your dud bearings up your bung hole! My advice is to get in touch with Craig and learn from the innovative boys in the bush. Rant over!
Re: Nirvana 1941 Chris Craft
Great work Bob, you make the difficult look easy...your woodworking skills never cease to amaze me. As for the bearings...i think we're every bit as skilled at problem solving as anyone on the planet...some people just have a rare ability to think outside the box!!
