First coat of primer on today. Did a light sand with a scotchbrite pad, then applied with a foam roller and it went on well. Should dry okay overnight so 2nd prime coat goes on tomorrow. Very glad to see the end of the patched and epoxied boards.

Kind of liked the patched and epoxied planks, Bob, but looking really great with colour.
What is the top coat an off white? Ray was hoping maybe a really yellow/white

I sanded all the paint off (applied by very poorly a previous restorer) back to bare timber. Then applied 2 coats of Everdure - a 2 pack epoxy sealer - light buff with a Scotchbrite pad then the first coat of grey primer today. To follow tomorrow is a second coat of grey primer, then 2 coats of white undercoat. The recomendation is for the second undercoat to be 50:50 undercoat with the final coat. Top coat is to be a fire engine red, 3 coats to be applied. Then the bootstripe is white... three coats also I expect.

That's plenty of coats Bob. It won't leak.
Have you eyed the fire engine red paint yet? Most paints I've used with that name are very very bright.

Fire engine red? You betcha. The brighter the better, offset by the sparkling white bootline. Planning on painting the trailer the same fire engine red as the bottom of the hull too. There is some question as to what my hull was originally... the build sheet that matches the hull number says red but the sales brochure for my model/year says copper so I'm going with red.

It will go faster if it's red Bob, loving your work. I'm afraid i have neither the skill nor the patience to produce that kind of quality. My philosopher of choice is Mediocrates

First coat of undercoat applied this morning. It's white but looks grey. The spec sheet says to wait 30 hours before sanding, so no painting activity tomorrow. The spec sheet also says that undercoat #2 can be mixed 50:50 undercoat with top coat.
