Getting ready, getting excited about the big roll-over day on Wednesday. Boat roll-over specialists Allardyce & Foster from Stratford have been engaged to consult and assist.

What an great day with Craig and Ross, rolling over Nirvana. It pretty much went according to plan but with some mods along the way. Could not have done it without the help of the team from Stratford... your help is much apprerciated guys. The bottom looks to be in good shape. Need to sand the existing RS paint job back to bare timber and prime, then finish - colour will be a CC red plus a white boot stripe. Also need to fit the cutwater properly and rectify a a gap in timber the forefoot.

Bob always there to help .
That's what being an active member of the group does .
The hull looks really good on the bottom and will not be long before we are back to do it again.

Was going to have a lay day today but then couldn't resist seeing how difficult it was going to be sanding off the paint and then seeing what lies beneath. So after 45 minutes on the Festool Rotax with 150 grit paper, here is the result. Thankfully the boards are the originals re-laid with epoxy filler over the screw heads and any gaps. It also seems that there is an epoxy like fine layer (sealer?) on top of the mahogany but under the paint. I'm pretty sure that this is Smiths CPES (clear penetrating epoxy system) or in Australia we know it as Evadure. So a full day sanding down through the grits and maybe another day with some detail work reprofiling the stem etc and it will be ready for a primer. Yee ha!
