Everingham Glass Copy

Postby Wildwoody1 » 08 Dec 2019, 00:40

An add has recently appeared for a glass copy of a small early shaped Everingham named the "Flea" model.

The pictures shown of the copy make an interesting comparison with photos of original Hulls built by Everingham .

FLEA was a 155ci Runabout raced by Everingham and was arguably the fastest Runabout of its size. During this period several Skiffs were also completed,SCREAMING EAGLE and RHONDA TWO being ones that come to mind.

Looking at photos[(camera angles may distort what we appear to see]
it would appear that if the Glass copy is from FLEA the Skiffs that followed had exactly the same water lines as the Runabout model.

What would they have copied or flopped it off Graham? Maybe Binky II? Wasn't that the original Flea?

Have no knowledge of of the history of this production, maybe our NSW members may know more ?

Once heard a story that Rhonda Two ended up as a plug for a Glass Production but have never had confirmation or seen an end product .

Base for an interesting replica to be built using an engine and appropriate speed equipment of the period and no "wetting out" required.
