Thunda Babe
Re: Thunda Babe
Must be a bit of red cordial happening out you way Craig, great work guys
Re: Thunda Babe
Got the last two planks that have to be replaced out today. Onto some challenging repairs to the transom and top planks.
Re: Thunda Babe
If its any help Craig, I had a similar problem with my Chris Craft in places. The solution is to get a bag of toothpicks from the $2 shop. Push some epoxy down & into the nail hole, shove in as many toothpicks as will fit and let it set. The yanks call it... toothpicking!
Re: Thunda Babe
I've been drilling and using dowels. Seems to have worked fine. It's the cracks in the transom where big nails have been belted in that has me thinking a lot.
Re: Thunda Babe
That will be satisfying. Careful with that power saw... they bite.
Re: Thunda Babe
You going to make a wine barrel or two ?
Re: Thunda Babe
Yes Bob, I will be! I've seen your war wound and I don't want one.
No Alan, it'll all be fuel for the shed heater. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...............................

Re: Thunda Babe
Well I think that's the last of the repairs done. Transom will live another day now and top planks finished. Only 4 planks to go.
