That's the kind of challenge that keeps us awake at night. Good work mate.

It's always nice to get some goodies in the mail.
Just waiting on cam and pistons now.

Well here's another offering to the god of speed. Thought I'd do a few checks on the engine and found my exhaust rocker shaft broken in one place and cracked in another. These were hidden as the rocker posts were over the breakage points. I'm thinking I may not have bolted the shaft down squarely at some stage. It's either that or I have to review my valve spring rates as they maybe a bit high.
On the flip side I've overhauled some triple carbs for FPR. These should work well on Impact.
Back on the Skiff tomorrow with the planks.

Apart from the cost of new retainers etc, the beehive springs work well

I haven't managed to find any that will fit this set up. They were my preference at the start but had to go with normal springs.

Time to make a start on bottom end improvements. The new block is underway and is off to be sonic tested.

Finally a day in the shed after battling another bout of Covid. Have made a start on knocking up new Chrome Moly heavy wall rocker shafts.

Today I made a start on beveling planks for the fit up of the two reverse planks. It's been a difficult process dealing with a boat that wasn't right in the first place with regard to differences between opposite planks. One issue has been that the original bevel angles cut into the stem are different which is giving me some issue with getting the planks to mate up correctly. After much thought and help from Bob and Ross I've moved ahead with a plan.
I even managed to knock up a quick guide for the plane so I can get some more accuracy with opposing plank bevels.

Good plan Craig. Steady with the plane & lots of trial fitting will deliver good results.
