Glued in new keel section after plugging plank nail holes in the transom and made a start on cleaning up transom face for repairs there.

Going very well, will be interesting to see what the bottom lines do to the Hulls ride. Although close copy of the old, the beauty of wood is there will be differences. May yet see 70mph ??

Good point Graeme. We did discover a dip in the hull at a little bit aft of the new scarf. I guess this could cause a low pressure area that would suck the boat to the water. Fingers crossed we may gain a bit more speed. I'm thinking not having to drag around a heap of water on the inside may help considerably. The keel is now dead flat so it will be interesting to see what it does.

Checking the bones for fit. Some more out in readiness for steaming the next lot.
Nails and roves arrived yesterday.

Well it's been 3 months since I've done anything to the skiff, but gladly I've managed to get back into it this week.
I started checking the removed planks for total curve across their length so I can get a consistent width for cutting out the planks without wastage. Hopefully I wont have to scarf any planks on an angle. So far so good.
