Well things are starting to look serious. Found this metre long split in a plank under the port bearer. I also cant seem to get the bloody bearers out. I may have to rip the deck off.

Another split plank and a heap of split and broken ribs. Both bearers cracked through front engine mount holes. A lot of nails badly bent. It's a bit of a major job by the looks of it.

You're right there Craig... there's some work ahead for you over winter. Yell out if you need a hand.

Craig i went through this with Zarak .If you are going to do a full plank be careful removing it as i used them as a template for the new ones . I think the nails get bent and put pressure on the plank when they are hammered to try and tighten them they can't compress so they bend putting pressure on the plank to crack .I purchased nails and epoxy from boat craft pacific .

Thanks Ken. I've been careful to keep the planks as one piece for templates. My concern is making sure I have an accurate scarf dimension to go off. It was pleasing today to get one plank out complete. I was wondering how I could break the grip of the plank without damaging it. My plan worked ok so far. Looking further afield I have to decide on another plan of attack as the ribs are a mess. Getting them out will be gunnels off at least if not the deck too.

I've decided on doing a full replank due to all the damage found. Today was a frustrating day. Took the best part of five hours to get one gunnel off. Steel screws were the problem as the heads stripped out. Anyway it's slow progress but still moving forward.

Your going to need a timber rack now !
If you keep going you will be able to store the complete boat on a narrow shelf .
