Hi Matt,
Great pickup ! she looks like a early " Lewis " Dodge Q motor [big block] came out in small and big block. Notice ribs are close together [ a hint of being a race boat ] Twin post bollard and tapered nose plate on deck . timber water barrier in front of screen. [Lewis]. I've seen a photo of this boat either " Seaspray" mag or Ron's "Lewis" book.
Doc.

Thanks for that.Am hoping that at least some pics of this boat will turn up,am still not sure if it is a Lewis or not,was told by someone with lots of background in Lewis boats that it is doubtful,so who knows ?Also noticed her shown for sale this site in June last year, with more pics,am glad the seller was super negotiable lol. With regard to the engine ,I have crunched the numbers and it looks to be a Desoto block dated 1946-48,have done the basic checks and had the engine fire up,so all going to plan, hoping to lift the engine out this weekend. Will probably leave this page and jump onto the resto/help page.
