At ramp today saw this no idea (yet) what it carries but more fodder for future news letters re tow vehicles which I enjoyed I know there is some cool trailers out there!!

I'm with you guys regarding the demise of the forum, i want to post more stuff but in reality i havent done much for a while now. I check this site several times a week but i guess we're all too busy to put stuff up! As Chivs has noted Lightning 111 has made it's way back across the strait and has joined it's sibling Pagan at the Clifton Springs residence. This will be a slow restoration, more a retirement project really. While i still work full time i can't do it justice. One thing I am curious about, how many small skiffs are there? For that matter how many of each class? Is this something to look forward to in the future, enough boats to run classes. Anyway, enough of my ramblings for now, will put up a few pics of the trip home when i can. cheers all

I suppose in reality it is up to us. Social Media has become a business. I think the strength of a bulletin board is the more permanent nature of the information posted.
But it also requires posters or it dies.

The info and experience of the members is so specialised and specific that newbys to the sport like me could not progress at all in any sort of restoration without the forum help.
Im as remiss as anybody with my slackness in posting, Ive had Buster for many months and done little except accumulate some parts. Its easy to make excuses for yourself in the time poor life we all live.
Hey Ray Im not sure about your retirement scenario - Ive been retired for 14 years and still can barely see light at the end of the tunnel !!

Somewhere in Facebook land on the weekend, I spotted a series of photographs of vintage outboard runabouts made from the fibreglass type trees. They were at the festival and this trailer would have to belong to the red unit. At least one of the boats was a Haydon Hydrodyne, the only wood I could see in the photos was a steering wheel. Interesting that they were at the wooden boat festival!

Yes mate these guys came down from up north there were three boats of the Bellboy variety or similar if you saw the blue one it was very well done right down to the more modern Mercury outboard with the chrome bands on the cowling to make it appear period correct, however he wished he put a four stroke on rather than the oil burner!!

What site did you see them, I don't prowl face book and only on a couple of sites that others have recommended.
