Uploading Pictures

Postby Greg » 13 Mar 2010, 07:43

To include pictures in your posts, the following should help:

After typing in whatever text you wish into the Mesaage Box, scroll down to the “Upload Attachment” section, immediately below the “Message Body” box.

In the Filename section, click on the “Browse” tab and navigate on your computer to find the picture you want to upload. Double click on the picture file.

In the File Comment box, you can type in some text to appear with your picture if you wish, otherwise just click the “Add the file” tab. You will see the file upload progress and when uploaded, you will see it queued in the Attachments section, immediately below the Message Body box.

If you wish to upload further images, repeat the above. These will queue in the Attachments section, immediately below the Message Body box and are visible by clicking on the arrow next to the file name box.

Once you have uploaded all the pictures you wish to post, place the cursor in the Message Box at the position you wish to place the first picture.
In the Attachments section immediately below the Message Box, click on the file you wish to upload and then click the “Place inline” tab. If you can’t see the file you want, click the arrow next to the file names to view all the files.

Repeat this for any subsequent pictures, remembering to position the cursor in the Message Box each time to where you wish the picture to be located.

Once all the pictures are uploaded, click on the “Preview” tab and check your handiwork. If you are happy, click the “Submit” tab.

This BB is slow to upload (something I am still working on), so uploading the message takes a while.

NOTE:
Regarding pictures, use JPG’s and try and keep the resolution low (72 dpi is fine for the Board) with picture size at about 800 pixels maximum width. This helps with server space as well as reducing upload times for those with slower systems.
