Hi, I am restoring a lewis twin cockpit with a ford y block. At present the hull is hanging from the garage roof (with the engine out )of course. It has a single axle trailer with hydraulic brakes.
the problem I have is I have to buy a new car and dont know the total weight of boat & trailer.
Does anyone know roughly what they would weight.
Some vehicles have a 1500kg towing capacity some 2700-3000kg so I would like an idea .so i know what size vehicle to look at.
regards Stuart

Hi Stuart, I took Resurrected a ply clinker with 350 Chev on a very heavy tandem trailer with all ski gear and camping stuff on board over a weigh bridge and she was 1500kg with a tow ball down weight of 100kg. 2000kg should be safe, 1500 might be OK. to be sure just google public weigh bridges and find one near you. Pretty easy and costs around $20.
