Even from my mobile your boat sounds great. You can't beat the sound of a v8 on water and the destinctive sound of a V drive.
Cheers Chris

Great Job Neil!
That sounds great now we don't have to be afraid of a jet passing us in the river!

Re: Mystress - back up and running!
Hey Dave,
I've since discovered Trina wants to go to Jerusalem Bay this weekend (our favourite spot) but I'll take Mystress out your way one weekend soon.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys. Its good to hear its not just me that thinks it sounds good. I'm biased
I finished putting the gearbox back together with 8% overdrive yesterday so its definitely on for a new top speed run this weekend. Hoping to crack 60mph....
Cheers!

Hi Neil
Our regular haunt with Bloomsbury is Pulbar island.
If you go out on Lake Maquarie do you want to meet up there some time

Re: Mystress - back up and running!
Hey Nick,
That sounds perfect for when we move up to Newcastle (sometime in the next 12 months).
Well, todays effort was comical at best... We got about 2 k's from the boat ramp and a hose blew off the trans cooler spraying the entire contents of the Velvet drive all over the back of the boat. I then got towed back to the boat ramp by a guy in an old fibreglass runabout with a 70 hp outboard. The shame!
Oh well, my own fault. Didn't have the correct fitting on the cooler.
Going back tomorrow for another go!
Cheers!

Re: Mystress - back up and running!
That machine of yours sure makes a sweet noise, well done.
Do u head to Jerusalem Bay often & does that make u a local to these waters? Its just down the hill from me. I was out on a mates boat today skiing in between Cottage Pt & Appletree Bay but didnt hear that sweet noise of yours. Did u manage to make it out again?
Maybe catch u up some time , Ed.

Re: Mystress - back up and running!
Hey Ed,
Not exactly local. We live in Ryde. But we usually put the boat in up at Akuna bay as it is just so nice up there. The scenery and waterways around there are just awesome and there are so many little bays that you drop anchor and have lunch, etc.... We were out there today but we were anchored in the bay for a couple of hours then cruised back via Refuge Bay. I went past cottage point at about 3 o'clock on the way home. We'll probably be back up there next weekend so if you want to meet up I can let you know when we'll be up there....
Well Brian, I think you better put up some youtube footage of you eating that hat. Just under 50 mph but only 4,500rpm at WOT. I've gone too far with the ratios in the other direction... These damn boats are so fiddly! Oh well it sounds absolutely awesome at that RPM so I'll probably just leave it like this until the winter then I might play with it some more.
Cheers!

Re: Mystress - back up and running!
hahaha dont ya hate boats
i'll work on getting that footage on your tube for you as soon as possible. i would have thought it would do more then 50mph at wot. my 202 does just on 50mile thru a dog clutch at 5200rpm, my props holding it back from more revs.
i though your step up in the gear box would be good enough to pull 60 providing the prop you are running will let the engine rev abit harder. 50mph is great from a social boat. especially when it sounds that good.
im looking forward to see it in person at nerrandera.
