Ahoy RAY

thanks for posting the photo of Tomboy. I have seen something similar in a boating magazine years ago?

The attached (hopefully in order, tip do the last one first?) is in her glory racing days in Hobart, as found, the Leo Eugene and restored strutting her stuff at the wooden boat festival 2013.

Cheers

Hey Chris, I can't find the exact spot I found the photo but it came from the Ozboatracers web site in the nostalgia bit. The pic may have been from Sydney harbour

Thanks Ray! Can you tell me what post it's under, I assume nostalgia somewhere?

I believe I have the flag that's flying on the cabin, amazing what dad kept including the NSW Royal Yacht Club wooden plaque that's on the dash board! Also puts a dent in previous owner Doug Elliot's story that it was brought to Tassie and a cabin put on, looks like she already had one and makes me think it's design is more like a Hakercraft sedan?

Thanks again Ray, cheers mate!

How good is this bit of detective work, absolutely astounding.
Proves the Chinese whispers theory - re the cabin.
Would have been good think that Tomboy and Dave P's Towns may
have crossed swords at one time?

Saw the magic word "Deepwater" and did a bit of investigation to see if I could add further light on the subject. I have a 1939 Deepwater Syllabus and thought that Tomboy might be listed in there. Looks like they only started to list the boats some time in the 40's, so no luck. Can't tell from that pic if it's at Deepwater or not.

Off topic, but speaking of Deepwater (Motor Boat Club that is) I'm thinking that it's about to become extinct, just like a lot of other boat clubs. The owners of the clubhouse have been given approval to turn it into a Wedding Reception place. Can you imagine saying "I do" just as a couple of blown boats go screaming past?

Not sure if the photos of the flags previously mentioned will attach to this? If they do do they mean anything to anyone. They may not have come with Tomboy, dad can not remember could be from another boat he had over the years?
