Hi folks

Tested The Spook on the Sunday of the long weekend. The battery behind the driver is a failure, it overloads the prop and the boat can't lift its tail.

Battery now back in the front of the boat where it will stay while we test out the 870 carb.

Chris

When you are writing up the post, click on the "youtube" box (which is above) and between the bracketed , copy in the code from the youtube video that you wish to show. The code is the random group of numbers and letters found in the string, ie aJqOyNFs1S4

It should turn out like this:

Hi all

I have just discovered what seems to be causing the current problem with The Spook.

I went to the Forster Boaties reunion and still couldn't get the engine to rev past about 6200 to 6400 rpm. It didn't make any sense to me why so when I came home I pulled the fuel bowls and fuel metering blocks off the carburetor, the right hand secondary had a complete blockage of the main jet extension. This would mean that the only fuel flowing to that secondary would be through the secondary power valve setup, result - fuel starvation in the top end rev range.

The cause: When I installed the jet extensions in the secondary fuel metering block I used locktite to ensure that they were unlikely to come loose, apparently I used too much and it filled the inside of the jet extension and solidified. Total blockage of the jet extension and hence no fuel flow through that main jet. It's all cleaned out now so another test session is now in order.

Its always the little poo that gets you.

There is a YouTube video of our test session at Taree on the Friday afternoon before the weekend at Forster. Go to YouTube and type in Roberts Hydro and it will be about the second video from the top.
