I had another day of watching the boat racing from the water at Eppalock.
There is a cheep prop out there for the grabs when the water drops down !!

With a forecast of 35 degrees, sitting in a perimeter boat out on the water for an uninterrupted 6 or 7 hours during the VSBC’s race meet yesterday was cause for some innovation.

With limited time, ie, started the night before, Screwit owner, inventor and craftsman Ross quickly produced this quite revolutionary bimini, custom designed and built exclusively for timber runabouts.

Manufactured from Queensland Cyprus and covered by an exclusive Bunnings tarp, the canopy was lashed down with a generous length of Telecom rope.

Road tested under tow at up to 80 kph, the device proved robust and stable (it didn’t blow off).

It was a hit at the boat races and certainly saved us getting toasted out there.

I understand a patent has been applied for.

A wonderful example of Aussie ingenuity.
Looks to me as if it might become a permanent fixture. All it needs now is the speakers, some coloured fluorescents and six wake boards hanging off the sides.

Shame it wasn't a clinker, you could've had a covered wading pool as well. I am in possession of some artisan like hand crafted furniture from the same manufacturer, that could well be worth a small fortune one day, there is no limit to his skill.

Trust me Al, we had better than a wading pool there for a while.

With the amount of water we had in the boat the wake was good for surf while we let it out.
When getting old, we are aloud to forget some things !!!
Material list ____ one 100 x 100 cypress post
Two second hand door jams
and two bits of 19x45 hwd
8 coach bolts
16 wood screws
1 plastic tarp 2.4 x 1.8
12 mtr of telecom rope
3 hrs and 3 stubbies

Hope you marked the location of that prop with your GPS Ross, I have a good mental picture of where it parted company with unlucky hydro, but given the speed it was doing at the time it could have zinged off some distance
