Morning Guys, My 16 year old son was shooting the breeze with his woodwork teacher the other day at school and the subject of boats arose. It turns out this guy was based in WA and used to travel regularly to SA, NSW & Vic to race his skiffs. These skiff were also built over here, one ran an ALFA ROMEO and the other a PUGEOT motor. The names he gave my boy was Simitar & Jezebel (not sure on spelling) and I was wondering if anyone know of these boats?? The guy is chasing up some photos for me and some more information of which I will post when it come to hand,he believe one may be in Tassie atm?? Cheers!!

Scimitar II is now in Tassie with Stuart Beattie.

I've heard of Jezebel, but not sure whether it's still about.

Hello Damo,
when I purchased a 12ft WA skiff a number of years ago, the owner gave me some photos with the boat.
Included was a photo of Scimitar and Cindy racing against each other at Mandurah in 1966. Cindy is the skiff I purchased and have just completed her restoration.
I have attached a couple of current photos of Cindy. I am about to start on the restoration of Titan, which is in the background of one of the photos. Cindy had a Peugeot motor most of its racing life. They must have been popular in the 1960's.
If you are interested, whenever you are in Perth, you are welcome to come and check out the two boats. I live in Bicton, mobile 0467708204.
Regards, Ray.
