Gauges -
Hey Guys!! Its time to purchase some gauges for the boat and as there are so many brand types I thought I would ask you guys if there is a preferred type for the old woodys!!! I need 6 in all , Tacho & Speedo (large) and then oil, amps, water temp & volts. Faria do some nice sets but there cheap which makes me wonder about the quality!!!! Any help will be greatly appreciated , Thanks

In my opinion you cant go wrong with some period gauges. Say smiths or stewart warner.
They arent that hard to get and look right.

Good call Dave - the modern gauges look out of place in a 60's or 70's wooden boat.

Thanks guys, I'll see what I can find out there as I too like the old style look!!!! Cheers
Re: Gauges -
I have a New Old Stock Smiths Classic Marine Speedo (gauge only) if you want to go the smiths route.
All the other Smiths Classic gauges are still avaliable, but not the marine speedo.

Hey Thommo, Thanks for the offer mate and am very interested, the only original gauge that came with the boat was a Smiths oil gauge so I am keen to go down the same road and stay with the Smiths brand. As the below pic it looks like the speedo that came with the boat was retro fitted as its in KPH but this is also a Smiths, Thanks again Thommo , you can get me most time on my mobile 0417 865 419 but may be out of range tonight and tomorrow as am off racing enduro out in the back block Cheers

Knots are for yachts ships and cruisers. All speedboats are mph.
