DEBBIE TOO

Postby Wildwoody1 » 26 Jan 2014, 18:00

Wondering if anyone knows what happened to "Plugger Grahams" Everingham Skiff , DEBBIE TOO ?

This Hull was as fast around Albert Park Circuit as any other boat in it,s day, ( the owner of Mandy always believed it had 351 ci engine. He was wrong ) Power came from a 289 Cobra and could run at speeds over 80 mph.

I don't know where it is but it would look very nice parked alongside Jayme II?!

Just to make the hunt more interesting there was an Everingham runabout of the same name before the Skiff. Was sold to Bill Barr and raced under the name of COBRA , was based in the Frankston area of Victoria .

This looks like the back half of Debbie Too runabout being retrived after a race in Goolwa. And reckon the trailer in the water is for Jayme II.

Thats the Everingham in question , that pick would have been taken when the Australian Championships were held there.

That Hull was a very close cousin to the Stephens family.

The boats lining up were getting ready for the 155 ci Hydroplane race , Ian Harveys SNOOPY is in the middle . CHINOOK is on the left of picture , both were powered by Repco headed Holden engines. ( I think bootlegger may own that one now)

Yep chinook is hanging from the roof of my shed. I bought this boat over ten years ago. I searched everywhere for a repco. I gave up in the end and sold the boat. Six months later a repco turned up. About a year after that chinook was advertised on ebay so I bought it back. Ive got everything to restore this hull. Just not sure if im going to live long enough to get all these projects done.
The repco motor is going into a fb holden ute im rebuilding for now.

Yeh, agree Dave, some great shots.

From what I can make out of the name on the trailer, the boat next to Black Knight is Mandy Sue. The zoomies look typical Assassin, though.

The Hydro next to Black Knight is Assassin, the small Cabover on the right of the 155 line up I believe is Bruce Greys Taboo a copy of American "Doc Eastmans" record holding 50 ci Crosley powered Hull.
