Inspection purposes only Hookster, and to clean any nesting critters out! Other than that......all good!

Well I started reassembling Pagan yesterday, must say i'm happy with the results of it's spring clean. I have cleaned all the oil out of the hull and except for some staining it's not too bad, next was to give the inside and out a couple of coats of clear so if it does drop oil it can be easily removed as well as to freshen up it's general appearance. Next was a bit of sealing either side of the keel so hopefully if it doesn't start, at least it wont bloody sink! (something that has been a wee bit of a problem in the past) A new seal for the output shaft of the v drive should help with oil in the bilge. Next was to tighten up the steering cables to stop them coming off the quadrant when turning as well as tightening the quadrant on the rudder shaft to sharpen up the steering. I found a way to accurately put timing marks on the flywheel so I don't have to guess where to set the timing, then put some rubber matting under the fuel tank to tighten that up and stop it moving around. and a repaint of the trailer and tidy up of the carpet on the runners has seen that looking good. Hopefully the motor and wiring can go back in tomorrow, and with any luck it should be running by next weekend, then I'll try to get my head around getting the tacho to work.

Yeah, i'm happy with the results, visually it's still the same but i'd like to think I've prolonged it's life a bit.

Had another massive shed day today, the only thing left to do on Pagan are some minor wiring and to refit the battery. I'm starting to get a bit toey about getting it back in the water. In other news Taurus has a new transom fitted and is in the process of having the stem repaired, there is also a 225 slant six sitting on my shed floor (thanks Andy and Alan) that will get a good going over in preparation to go into Taurus. The Vanguard will be the next thing to get some love as I want to get the club plates BEFORE Vicroads change the rules, which apparently is imminent. Anyway all for today.

I'm hoping to give Pagan a run on Monday, not sure whether to go to Pykes ck. or Eppalock. I hate Pykes but it's close, every time I go there I find chunks of boat missing when I get home. Does anyone know how much water Learmonth has?

I'll be around on Monday if you come to Eppalock Ray. Possibly Ross too.
