Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Wow it looks great Jamie , is your hull diagonal ply and planked. ? I have a friend on the Sunshine Coast who just finished building a Hacker Craft of the plans , 24 ft running a big block Cadillac engine , his also has the same wow factor . PM me and I will give you his contact if you like, Glenn.
Re: Aussie Belle Isle
Thanks for the comments,
Glenn, yes hull is double diagonal planking cold moulded....boat has been a pleasure to build and cant wait to get on the water....
We recently had our first aussie gathering of builders building boats by Glenlmarine down at port Macqaurie...do you still have your NQ get together up here as I will be very interested in going.....

Hi all,
Bit of an update as it has been quite a while.
I have cleaned up engine, test run and installed.
Top framing and sub deck installed.
Cover boards, king plank done.
Installed planking to top deck of bow section and cockpit divider.
Caulking will be a mixture of epoxy with white pigment and talc powder.
Happy with the way it is all going just need to find more time and Money to finish!

Mate
As a person who built a wooden vintage hydroplane from scratch, I say top job.
I know how much time and money goes into these projects. It took nine years from first piece of timber to the first run, and I'm still getting it sorted out.
Brilliant effort.
