Notice how Bob seems to look sad when you put the brick under the loud pedal

Thanks for posting those pics Thommo. Buggered if I know where that camera man was but, in future, I'll have to put on my makeup and wear a smile. I was actually grinning on the inside.

I've given Rhonda a couple more runs. Today I took my daughter out (with ear muffs on for all the do gooders). After the run you couldn't wipe the smile off her face.
We have a couple of things to sort out but the boat feels like its going to go. It got to Pitt town and back in no time.
That deck is sooo long to see over.

Well the adventure to Goolwa didnt have a fairy tale ending. Rhonda got wet on saturday. Turne four laps at a pretty good pace and then gradually lost oil pressure.
I shut her down and spent the sunday driving Colins boat Miss Dee which was great except for the unbelievable pain I had in my back.
Now home I finally got the engine out and torn down and as expected the big end bearings on 7and 8 spun. I reckon one more lap and the seven rod would have snapped. No other damage was evident so hopefully I can sort out the machining if the crank can ne saved ,redesign the sump and get her back together for Forster.
Its looking like the year of the Skiffs up there with at least seven attending.

That's no good Dave. Such a shame after all that fine work. The boat looked great in the pics. Was it a pick up problem in the sump?

The general consensus is I used the wrong sump. The sump I used is a malzard stainless sump for a rear mount set up. The gates and channels are set up to force the oil back around the pickup. When I put this sump on the pickup was now at the front hence the oil was drawn awy from it.
I still can't believe that with ten litres of oil in the sump it wouldn't make an difference but I've been told I'm wrong.
Time to make a new sump.and see if they are right.

So what did the rest of the rod bearings look like, what rods are you going to use, and can you just extend the pickup?

Alan everything else was unmarked.only that one journal and the rod bearings are damaged. The bearing cap on number 7 rod is blue from heat and is opened up a little. I can't get it back on the rod.
I'm running ls7 rods. I have more.
