My father raced this skiff The Fox (not to be confused with the Lewis Bros Fox) at Cabarita.

Could anyone shed any light on its builder?

looks like it has a front seat or has been converted from a runabout to create a skiff to race.

Do you think that because of its length?

That is the engine cover we can see forward of the Dodge six. Although only a young boy, I clearly remember the sliding cover(s).
