As for his love for the product, the resultant drooling onto the keyboard

There is a Whiskey Cup in Australia.
In the land of whiskey is there another link between Whiskey and
clinker/wooden boats.

Hmm... would it have something to do with the way whisky barrels are made? (strip plank - much like clinker hulls)

Or... the type of timbers that are used in the barrels? (oaks - also common in wooden boats)

Or... purely that wooden boats and whisky are two of the few things in life that actually get better with age!

I do know of the Whisky Cup in Australia. Myself and other's participated in the race held last year at Neranderra. It started off the line at quite a brisk pace, probably to quick as a few dropped out in the first couple of laps. I myself don't remember the chequered flag.
Apparently it was a great event and the sponsor will be returning this year with more prizes.

okay, I'll have a stab and its a long one ...in the kid rock video all summer long (ya's should check it out, its not bad) the kid's driving a classic wooden (carvel I think) boat on lake Michigan I think, and a line in the song is ..."drinking whiskey from a bottle" dum dee dee dum...youse get the drift...
