Nope
In 1950 he did it in less than an hour
It was
1940 E. Nunn Wasp 1:41:36

1941 E. Nunn Wasp 1:42:57

1948 E. Nunn Wasp 1:32:11
1954 E. Nunn Wasp 1:14:01

1955 E. Nunn Wasp 1:03:31
1959 E. Nunn Wasp 1:08:10
1962 E. Nunn Wasp Two 1:06:25

That he broke the hour

Yep Jeff you are right. 1950 he broke the hour and 66 he did it in 48 minutes 34 seconds.
Grace Walker broke ernies record in 1957 (53 minutes 31 seconds). Her record stood for nine years (now you can see how good Atomics time was).
OK Jeff Your question.

Jeff telepathically messaged me to ask this question.
As for his love for the product, the resultant drooling onto the keyboard
may damage his computer.
There is a Whiskey Cup in Australia.
In the land of whiskey is there another link between Whiskey and
clinker/wooden boats.

Hmm... would it have something to do with the way whisky barrels are made? (strip plank - much like clinker hulls)

Or... the type of timbers that are used in the barrels? (oaks - also common in wooden boats)

Or... purely that wooden boats and whisky are two of the few things in life that actually get better with age! :D

Darren
I do know of the Whisky Cup in Australia. Myself and other's participated in the race held last year at Neranderra. It started off the line at quite a brisk pace, probably to quick as a few dropped out in the first couple of laps. I myself don't remember the chequered flag.
Apparently it was a great event and the sponsor will be returning this year with more prizes.

Jeff

P.S.Is Bundaberg Rum available in Oak Barrels.

I think Barbara was the winner of that cup as she did the most damage to herself and my car (even though no one remembers)
