That should have been V not B or was it VB.

The next question is:
On a skiff there is sometimes a fin on bottom of the boat (well they are on championship winning skiffs).
What is it's purpose?

Sorry Dave P I can't let you play as you told me the answer.

Do they keep the fish straight when you fillet them with the paddle thing next to it ?

Can't allow that answer as Dave never mentioned anything about fish.
Anyway I don't reckon you would have much success trolling from a skiff.
And there no hope of getting a big Barra in my little boat.

Jeff,
I am familiar with these.
You see them only on world championship craft.
They are added as a form of handicapping the
elite boats.
The water resistance created, brings the boat back
with the pack giving the others a chance.
Also when they spend time under water the small fin
grows into a prop skeg and the owner can sell them.

Darren you really got me thinking. So the fin is having effects other than that it was put on for. Your technical information now explains to me why the V8's are able to make up the ground I gain. Should I make it retractable or simply put it back on the Fred Williams ski.

Dave were you breast or bottle fed as a kid?

Bauchy the chairs were built with the boat and they will only be sold together, the boat is not for sale. The chairs will be on The Collector show later in the year and I'll ask Gordon to give me a value. If the price is right I'll split them.

When I first bought this skiff I noticed the fin on the rear and how well it cornered (compared to Renegade bouncing all over the place). I fitted one to FF Sure and now it turns like its on rails. The fin stops the back from sliding out. You will see something similar being used on modern race boats but its fitted to the outside of the cav plate.

OK How many Bridge to Bridges did Earn Nunn win and what year did he break the Hour?
