The skin is only screwed on at this stage. Next job is to remove the skin now that it is trimmed to shape and glue and screw it on permanently.
Another fiddly process but its gotta be done.

You're right, it will and the cowlings also mean that it's finished. It's been a long project.

Re: New Prop
Hi all Just arrived back from Bundaberg at lunch time today. I was invited to be "clerk of the course" for their two day race event which was held over the weekend. This afternoon I ordered a couple of sheets of bendy ply from Mr Plywood to cover the engine cowl. I will start to fit that n...
Re: New Prop
Greg Thanks for putting those pictures up for me. Next job is to buy a couple of pieces of 5mm bendy ply to form the covering for the cowl. Then its trimmed, fitted and painted red. Yesterday I bought the latches to fix the engine cowl down with. They are actually truck bonnet latches. Then onto the...

Re: Naranderah wet together
Bob I finally received a phone call from them last week and they requested my credit card details, which I gave them. They then refunded my deposit to my credit card, less a cancellation fee of $50. They didn't mention the cancellation fee during the phone calls, just gave me a refund which was $50 ...
Re: New Prop
Ok, the latest update. I have a new prop which is a Dewald. A new propshaft from Dave Freeman who lives in Medowie and runs a 5 ltr log raceboat. A new exhaust from Dave as well. I am now starting the process of making cowlings. I bought a couple of pieces of 5/8" structural ply during the week...

Without trying to be pedantic or a smartarse. it's actually a "Menkins".
It is also a left hand rotation "elephant ear" style prop, most likely to be used on an inboard (logboat type) race boat. 15" of pitch is fairly standard for these type of props.

Re: Naranderah wet together
It would appear that getting my deposit back for the room might be a problem. Last time I was on here (16/06/16) I had just cancelled my booking and was advised that I would receive a cheque in the mail, no result so far and a phone call to day resulted in, maybe being fobbed off.
