The Article about the number of Races listed for the Season is interesting. There were a lot of dates that were applied for , some would be cancelled due to water availability later in the Season and some dates applied to Kilo Runs only. Clubs were able to run on the same dates , however they seldom...

Plan drawing shown appear to be Paul Sawyers "ALTER EGO" from 1951/2. The plans were published in Speed and Spray in the USA after Sawyer took the boat to Italy to help advance their Hydro designs at that time. Check plans section on Vintage Hydroplane Site. Many details there.

That is a remarkable engine, that sort of engineering genius was once applied to speed boat engines when the rules were more liberal and you only needed to fit into a particular capacity between 50 ci to unlimited . The home modified and designed stuff is certainly worth a look at and aircraft based...
