Re: 1962 Seacraft

Yeh Dave I did. I bloody fell over at the price for a savage from NZ ($2500). Other than that they offered a Bowman for around $1400 or more if I wanted a header tank type. Consequently I walked.

Re: 1962 Seacraft

Engine assembly done and painted. The picture colour looks a little too red(Holden Red - 149/179 colour) but looks the goods in person. Am close to sourcing a heat exchanger which is looking like it'll be from the states if they don't slug me for postage as most do over there. Also waiting on my oil...

Re: 1962 Seacraft

Been back into it the last 2 weeks. Fitted up replacement engine block with crank, pistons, cam, thrust unit, etc. Done plumbing in the sump for drain and scavenge points for scavenge pump arrangement. Refitted standard engine driven water pump and repositioned raw water pump to allow for heat excha...

Re: Everingham

Sooks? Thats a bit harsh Greg  I'd reckon they'd be pretty handy when doing river work when currents can be an issue. Thanks Dave, Yes I can see the positives with having that set up. I dont have any intention of doing that to my boat as I could bring myself to molesting it in anyway. I'm just ...

Re: Everingham

Dave, would have this boat been originally set up with the velvet drive and vee drive arrangement? I would love to see more of this set up but I really wonder if it would have been worth it. I have read a lot that reverse is pretty well useless in a ski boat although I can see having a neutral for w...

Re: 1962 Seacraft

Yeh Ross, that's the sump that it has now. Looks as though the rib was rounded off to clear a different engine. The grey is a but shorter than the red so I'm thinking it was to clear the sump at the curve from the first to second level on a grey as well as the engine being located slightly rearward ...
