Re: 1962 Seacraft
Alan I've tried F7 and F8 emulsion tubes which have no air bleed holes at the lower range and allow for the earliest possible start of the main circuit. This improved it somewhat but I still feel the manifold is the issue relative to induction port velocity. If the air slows too much when you tromp ...

Re: 1962 Seacraft
A few more test and tuning runs over the last few weeks. Still dealing with an oil leak from a fuel pump blanking plate (piss weak alloy casting keeps warping when bolted up). I've finally got my new Facet fuel pump so will be fitting it this weekend. I decided to try and load the boat up a bit usin...

Re: 1962 Seacraft
Thanks Pete.
I was thinking of using a Facet electric pump as they match reasonably close to what I need i.e. 9-10 Gpm 1.5 - 3 Psi is the range I'm looking for. Facet were OEM for a lot of SU applications so its my current option if I don't succeed with the Weber and decide to convert to SU's.

Re: 1962 Seacraft
Na all good thanks Greg. Alan I've gone down to 32mm chokes as initially the bulk of the hesitation was from late starting of the main circuit. I've also probably got an issue with the fuel pump as its a Holley Red which is rate at 100Gpm. I'm running a pressure reducer in the line but I don't have ...

Re: 1962 Seacraft
Thanks Ken. Not sure which way to go with the flat spot as yet. SU's were in my plan for the grey when I get it built. I'm tempted to try a few mods to this manifold first and keep working with the weber.

Re: 1962 Seacraft
Thanks Dave. Greg we went ok, mixed outcomes I guess. The new distributor removed a lot of the harshness from the engine but we are plagued with a flat spot of which I'm pretty sure I know what the issue is. I tried various pump jet, idle and main jet configurations with no luck. At the end of the d...

Re: 1962 Seacraft
Well she got her bum wet today after a year off the water. Stoked that the heat exchanger set up worked really well with just some fine tuning with proportioning water flow between the exhaust and exchanger. I wasn't happy with the timing as there seems to be too much advance above 2 grand. Tomorrow...
