Re: Mandy - from Australian Hot Rod Magazine 1967

There were changes between Hulls as the first one was very flighty with the 600 hp on tap. There may have been changes in beam and length but not huge differences to the naked eye.
I believe Keith Hooper is long deceased as it was ill health that forced him from the sport 40 years ago.

Re: Mandy - from Australian Hot Rod Magazine 1967

Both MANDY skiffs had the same designs on the decks along with the same names of Owner , Crew etc. The Skiffs only ever used the down draft Weber carbs on the 350 Chev while owned by Keith Hooper. The reg number of the colored pic appears to have a NSW addition to the V/S 144. There was no carb cove...

Re: Pagan

If you still have problems after going through the Fuel system it,s time to check the Fire system. Systematically , one part at a time .
Ignitions can and do break down under load conditions while seeming to be perfect at low load.

Re: Rhonda Babe II

Engine shown in History picture was taken straight out of your Skiff Rhonda Babe and bolted into the Everingham runabout shown. The blower /injection and exhaust as shown was how the boat was fitted out by Baker before being sold to Victorian owner. To look authentic Zoomies of the type shown would ...

Re: Rhonda Babe II

Initially use the Nicsons with turn ups to above Deck and sideways , suit the fun police at most venues. No holes in Transom and Zoomies could be easily fitted when wanted , would sound great in this style and water could be turned on and off if plumbed correctly.. Originally Boat ran Drag style Zoo...

Re: 1962 Seacraft

The adjustment to the thrust setup is done via the flanges ability to slide forward and backward on the snout of the crank within the drive housing. If there is not sufficient movement the the harmonic vibrations are transmitted in the end of the crank which in turn forces the oil out of the bearing...

Re: 1962 Seacraft

The pick showing bearing damage is interesting. Were all Rods like this or only the one at the drive end of the crank ? If drive end only, appears to be possibly due to improper thrust bearing adjustment. Harmonics transmitted to the crank from the prop can cause lack of oil and bearings go away as ...

Re: Pagan

Ensure that you have a fuel pressure gauge fitted at the highest point of the system. This will show what is happening when the engine is running. When you know what happens it is easier to find the cause of your troubles. This also will allow you to know what occurs under normal use when all is run...

Re: DEBBIE TOO

You are correct about these great photos Bob, could look at as many as posted again and again. Sometimes the memory just doesn,t come up with details though. I would say that the picture shows Trevor Mathews waiting to get into the action. Any pictures available would be great to see. The picture of...
