Re: Raw water cooling

Ray, there is a hose made for marine use with a high temp inner lining available from most engineering suppliers, it is sometimes made with a blue (spiral) stripe and a wire spring reinforcing. The spring can make it hard to use if you want to go around corners, the last boat (EFI V8) I put together...

Re: Raw water cooling

Ray, the standard approach is to go form the pump to the sump, the manifold, then the engine. The sump is not always used (and may not be needed depending on application), also as has been said the water should not be cold straight into the block, but even more important you get much better results ...

Re: Melbourne cruise??

Later in Feb would suit me as well, as I hope to be up the river most of Jan and then like you say the '80, so would also like some time to prepare. I missed the last one and would love to go for run up the river.

Re: Expansion tank - How big???

Neil, 1 litre would be enough, but it's the "overflow" that needs to be big enough to cope with the expansion and contraction. You should run an overflow bottle at least twice the volume of the amount of expansion in the system from cold to hot, start with it at 1/4 cold and it should be a...

Re: Mulwala

What a great weekend,
a realy good turn out for the club, with some good racing as well. I have to agree that the Merlin was awesome but my favorite was "Latimore" you expect the latest in GP boats to be pretty good but that old wood hydro had me as soon as it started.

Greg,
watched the add for the event on TV today, if the event is half as good as the add, it looks like a great weekend.

Re: Narrandera

Great weekend,
lots of new boat to admire and drive. Thank god we missed that rain, and yep it sure was good to have the water all to ourselves.
Can't wait till the next get together.
