Good pickup , looks like a oil pump . Most water pumps have rubber impellers this one could be metal just like a Auto oil pump. If so you could use it for a dry sump setup.

Most of these were fixed ADVANCE on timing . Timing would be a critial factor using higher rev range.

Dave, in the early 70's i can remember driving up to the Eildon boat ramp and going past on the right hand side boat storage or caravan park. There sat in its glory for many years your boat i believe. McEwans hardware in Melbourne were agents for Riviera boats . Doc.

Damo, It's all to do with Power to Weight ratio, [ cars or boats ] . The deck covering is to keep the water out. The deck frame is to take any weight. Plus the ply should bend without stress. The planks should be ply thickness or veneer. Doc.
