Re: 60'-70's era wooden boat project - help identifying please
Get to bed Ray! If anyone in the club does go down that line but does not want the motor, I am interested in a motor like that. Cheers.

Ripper Alan, that gives me something to work with! I reckon I will be able to attach the speakers and maybe some keorsene lanterns to the 'signal yard'.
Cheers.

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Tasy gettin wet together! Still floating, still going and still gettin used. You gotta love Tasmania when there are more people in the boat than there are boats on the river. And yes Allan, still working out how to engineer a 1930's style wooden tower complete with gramaphone speakers!

Re: aca sunday
I missed it unfortunately, but my neice who lives in Darwin saw the show, took a couple of photos of it on her phone and text them to me, to let me know. I have just sent Greg and everyone else who is on his e mail list a copy of the wooden boat festival overview for your interest/information. Looks...

Re: A Tasmanian experience
You are a bit of a wordsmith Pete! too bad you are not a camera/photo/computer smith! I do what Alan does. Hey Ray, now you are the ideas-smith! With the restoration of Taurus, at the end of the day its your boat mate, and most of us agree its great to see them restored and being used. If its going ...

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy there Peter G, glad again you enjoyed the pics. When are you going to take time out to post some yourself on the epic restoration of Sunbeam? If I can do it, anyone can, Greg has gone to the trouble of explaining how to do it on the BB so get on it. As you know we all love a story with pictures...

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy there Alan! Glad you liked the steam boat addition and you have also seen it in the flesh. Bruce Jessup's family has a history with racing power boats, in particular "Fury" which is owned by Alan Mansfield in Tasmania. Bruce would like to obtain it from Alan, but of course Alan is rel...

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Possibly more relevant for the Tasmanians who have been following this post and others that are aware of Launceston and the Gorge. Proof of the Tomboy on the Tamar, we launched at Gravelly Beach and cruised up to Launy on the Sunday, it was about 25 k's and took about an hour of dodging around etc. ...

Re: A Tasmanian experience
How many seagulls can fit on a boats deck? Tried to sneak up on the boat to take an arty shot of the mass of seagulls on this boat, didn't see the bloody owls who must of said, "Who, Who is coming toward us?" Most of them heard and flew off as I got closer. Obviously the Owl is best mate o...

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Doesn't quite fit in the club's site, however I am sure you might be interested in the woodwork and engineering? Further the owner (Bruce Jessup) met Dave Pagano a few years ago in NSW, so I thought Dave might like to see what he has been playing around with?
