Re: A Don't Do
I've cooled off for a day. Dave, I have considered darkening the staincoat on the top 3 planks and blending at the bow. But I think the colors so far off I'll end up virtually black to get close to a match. Ive always disliked Rosewood even on the pianos! Thanks Greg And Skiffo its only a tiny 5 lit...

A Don't Do
Hi Guys, I'd like to share a don't do. I have spent probably over 5 months stripping my skiff bottom back to bare timber in order to get that great transparent color appearance. I had performed heaps stain tests using the original rosewood stain After countless hours of heatgunning then hand strippi...

Belated Well done! Great achievement, to get an old classic not just smoking for a couple of laps. but for over 50mins is no mean feat. Also I bet the Pagano racing teams expenditure is a tad less than most of the runners! Again that was the essence of the sport before (in my opinion) it lost its wa...

Re: The Boss
Greg,
I dont know whether its the same guy that had it last time though?
Is it not a plastic bottom timber deck boat?
Not sure of the history either.
Bigger minds than mine may have heard of it in racing circles
I cant remember it.(that dont mean much)
Not 1950's for me. more like 70's
